Anchorage Marina is located in Williamstown in Melbourne Australia on the banks of Port Phillip Bay. The O'Hare family has owned & operated the Anchorage Restaurant and Parsons Marina for the past 25 years.

About us

Located on The Strand in Williamstown and built over the water, the restaurant boasts numerous awards and has unbeatable views across the bay to the city.  The site of the marina was the original Parson's boat shed that was built in the 1890's.  Parsons ran a boat hire and marine services business catering to the numerous tall ships and steam ships that used to frequent Hobson's Bay.  The old boat shed is still within the restaurant structure which has evolved over the years.

 

The original marina was builts in the 1940's and has seen a few face lists since that time.  The biggest face lift however was completed in 2005 with the demolition of the old timber and concrete structure and the introduction of a much needed 90 berth floating marina facility renamed The Anchorage Marina.

 

The state of the art Bellingham Marina includes berths ranging from 8m to 23m in length and offers shore power, internet camera, security, wireless internet access and 20 dedicated visitors berths.  We have strong business relationships with all marine services and offer access to these services to ur berth holders.

 

The Anchorage was opened officially in December, 2005 by the Premier Steve Bracks after 3 years seeking approvals and permits and 14 months of construction including dredging 38,000 tonnes of silt and removing 6,800 tonne of rock, constructing a new marina office and carpark facility.  The Anchorage Marina is conveniently located between the River & The Bay and prides itself on being Melbourne’s friendliest marina.

The marina has both an award winning restaurant. The  restaurant also boasts all-weather outdoor dining with the recent installation of automated louvres, fixed heating and wind barriers - rain, hail or shine, you're welcome to pull up a chair on the Anchorage Deck.

 

We even have a coffee shed where you can grab a hot drink on your way to work or stop by to catch up with friends on the Marina.

Our floating marina of 100 berths is at the mouth of the Yarra River, which is an ideal spot for boating in Port Phillip. Cruise up river to the city of Melbourne or strike out to your favorite fishing spot in the bay.

We offer a range of boutique packages to make your boating affordable and reliable.

Upsize: for boat owners who need more space. Allows berth holders to park their second boat or Jet Ski next to their main vessel in the marina.

Berth your cruiser, jet ski and fishing boat all together in the one zone or take advantage of jet ski docks and sea pens to avoid the need for constantly taking your boat in and out. (On application.)

 

Catamaran Owners

With a major increase in catamaran ownership, The Anchorage can provide double berths without the double price tag. We are the only marina in Melbourne offering reasonably priced berthing for these wider vessels who normally have to pay double fees. (On application.)

 

Bakers Dozen for paying annually in advance; representing an 8% discount on annual fees. 13 months for the price of 12, allows boat owners a free maintenance period for annual slipping and service, taking a bit of the sting out of the budget each year.

 

Trailer Boats with casual marina berthing, boat ramp access and dry storage options all included, you can launch and retrieve at our private boat ramp 24/7 and leave your boat on the marina for a long weekend. Owning and storing a trailer boat has never been easier. ($350pm.)

Overnight rates

Melbourne's least expensive overnight visitors berthing. With all of the sights of historic Williamstown on our doorstep it is a great place to bring the boat for a sleepover, stroll around town, check out the farmers markets and then do dinner. Some of the old marina still survives as the timber was recycled to make walk ways and hardstand areas. The result is a wonderful mix of modern materials and old world finishes that reflect the history of the area.

Location

Originally Melbourne's first sea port, Williamstown has developed from what was a neglected industrialised centre into a popular and fashionable maritime village.

 

Williamstown's attractive main commercial precinct is located along Ferguson Street and Douglas Parade. Around the corner in Nelson Place is what was originally the town centre, lined with historic buildings which are now restaurants, hotels and galleries.
